S.761 has not been referred to the House Committee on Education & Labor yet, but that is the likely place the bill will be sent. When you speak to the Committee leadership, refer to S761, the bill that will soon be coming to their committee.

In response to requests for a summary of talking points, we've included them in this update. (See below.)

UPDATE: S.761, America COMPETES (poorly) Act
Will more federal involvement in education help America compete?

Contact the House Committee on Education & Labor
where S.761 will be referred very soon.
Chairman, George Miller
Phone: (202) 225-2095
Fax: (202) 225-5609

Ranking Minority, "Buck" McKeon
Phone: (202) 225-1956
Fax: (202) 226-0683

Tell them:
DON'T PASS "THE AMERICA COMPETES ACT."

1.  Federally directed curricula alignment from pre-K through post-secondary creates a single, monolithic education system and federal curriculum of beliefs and values.

2. Funds the National Science Foundation to determine curricula. NSF has subsidized fuzzy math for over ten years.

3. Subsidizes the un-American International Baccalaureate program.

4. Creates a single, federal data tracking system for students from pre-K through post-secoondary.

5. Creates a new federal bureaucracy to launch and implement a comprehensive plan over what states, educational institutions, and the private sector will do.
